ETA/EAD
An ETA applies to the described system kit and its intended use. Document number and current system variant are checked before publication.

Terminology
ETAG was the guideline. ETA is the product-specific rating.
ETAG 005 was the former European assessment guideline for liquid-applied roof waterproofing kits. The current route uses European Assessment Documents. For this product family, ETAG 005 has been replaced by EAD 030350-00-0402.
A manufacturer can obtain an ETA based on an applicable EAD. The ETA describes the intended use and assessed performance. The associated performance declaration and CE marking do not mean that any roof construction is automatically suitable.
Technical proof
Performance is system and structure specific.
The statuses below are deliberately reserved. A proof is only shown as proven after the current document, the system variant and the intended use have been checked.
CE and declaration of performance
CE and DoP describe declared product performance; they are not a blanket endorsement of every roofing project.
BROOF classification
Only claimable for the exact tested roof structure, substrate, layer thickness and the stated test suffix, for example BROOF(t1).
Waterproofing
Test performance and application conditions must correspond to the selected membrane variant and project structure.
Crack bridging and movement
Class, temperature and layer thickness are taken from the current technical documentation.
VOC and environmental documentation
VOC, EPD and other environmental claims are only published with a current, traceable source.
Conceptual framework
Five documents and concepts that should not be mixed up.

- European Assessment Document: the European assessment method for a product family or innovative product.
- ETA
- European Technical Assessment: product-specific assessment with performance and intended use.
- DoP
- Declaration of Performance: the manufacturer's declaration of performance for the construction product in question.
- BROOF(t1)
- Classification for external fire performance of a specifically tested roof structure according to test method t1.
- Project information
- Registration of what has been examined, processed, checked and delivered on the concrete object.
Chain of custody
This links evidence to an actual roof.

Identify product
Record exact commercial variant, components and intended use; similar products are not automatically interchangeable.

Check source
Link current ETA, EAD, DoP, CE information, classification report, TDS and SDS to the same variant.
- 03
Limit build-up
Compare the substrate, primer, reinforcement, consumption, layer thickness, finish and any protective layers with the evidence.
- 04
Project assessment
Bestaand dak, nationale eisen, brandveiligheid, gebruik, details en uitvoeringscondities per project beoordelen.
- 05
Register execution
Record materials, conditions, consumption, details, photos, deviations and delivery points in the project passport.
External fire performance
BROOF belongs to a roof structure, not just to a bucket.
A classification is stated with the appropriate test suffix, for example BROOF(t1). Substrate, carrier, insulation, existing roof covering, primer, membrane, layer thickness and finish can be part of the classification limit.
